Are you facing new competitors, different technology, new products, more regulations, shifting labor markets? These changes represent a threat or an opportunity for your company, and they’re coming more rapidly than ever. The one thing you can’t afford to do is stand still, but it’s hard to keep your organization focused on where you want it to go when all these changes in your environment are hitting you from different angles. As a senior executive in a large or mid-sized company, a big part of your job is keeping your eyes on what is happening in your company’s business environment, evaluating and anticipating the impact of these changes, and deciding on what your company needs to do to take advantage of them, or reduce their negative impact. It’s even harder for the owners of smaller family owned businesses. With family members doubling as employees, this adds another level of complexity to your company’s operations. Doing nothing, however, is the equivalent of falling behind. What may be a great niche market today, may be gone tomorrow. The only thing your organization can really control is the action it chooses to take today in the face of change, and that action requires leadership from you. It’s up to you to help chart your organization’s future, making adjustments for the shifting winds that try to blow you off course. And whatever your chosen destination … Wherever you’re trying to take your company … We can help you get there. If you’d just like to learn more about how we can help your company adapt to change, give us a call at (908) 347-7793. We’d love to talk with you.
What we do
Meet our Founder
“There’s a way to do it better. Find it.” Albert Einstein
Throughout his career, Dave Wight has been a “builder” … helping companies in a wide range of industries build the capabilities they’ve needed to be more competitive and successful. After graduating from Cornell’s ILR school, Dave Wight held a number of different HR positions with both large and small corporations. He also spent 12 years as a performance consultant helping family-owned companies build better employee relations , and developing approaches to optimize employee performance. During that time, he also earned his Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he taught as an adjunct professor for six years. In addition, he completed additional training in Family Therapy, which is particularly valuable when working through the dynamics of family-owned companies. Shortly thereafter, Dave joined Chubb & Son to help rebuild their corporate training function and earn Chubb the designation as “One of the Top Companies for New College Graduates.” He later joined BASF, where he built their training for professionals and managers and a new internal consulting function focused on promoting positive organizational change. Here his projects included BASF’s first employee survey, its first 360 feedback initiative, and a new Strategic HR Planning process. In his last position with BASF, he helped create a new Career Development System. After leaving BASF, Dave held a variety of managerial positions, all involving the building of functions and organizational capabilities that improved the company’s performance. In 2013, Dave returned to his roots as a performance management consultant by founding Performance Leadership Systems. His focus, however, still remains on the people side of helping companies grow by building the capabilities they need to be more competitive. This time, however, he has a much larger portfolio of skills, knowledge, and experience to bring to his clients as he continues to find “better ways to do things.”
